Continued expansion for Vietnam Shrimp Exporters : February 1, 2018
The Prime Minister of Vietnam has announced an ambitious plan targeting shrimp exporters to export $10b worth of shrimps per year by 2025. This will be achieved through an expansion of the area of brackish water used by shrimp producers to 750,000 ha by 2025. This is expected to yield around 1.1m tonnes for shrimp exporters to export.
“The Action Plan for the Development of the Shrimp Industry Through 2025” was published on 20th January 2018.
The plan identifies shrimp exports to be of key importance to the economy. The plan also calls for a hi-tech shrimp industry and large-scale eco-shrimp farming areas to be developed with infrastructure and technical services that use synchronous, efficient and sustainable investment.
