Siam Canadian: If your business isn’t growing, it’s declining

Jim Gulkin, the founder of Siam Canadian Group, a pan-Asian frozen seafood supplier, said there is no such thing as a stable business.
“If you are not growing, you’re declining. If you think your business is stable, it’s not, it’s actually going down,” he told Undercurrent News.
“Then, by the time you realize this, it’s too late.”
However, Gulkin was unwilling to go into much detail on business development plans with Siam Canadian, which has turnover of over $300 million and offices in Thailand, China, India, Vietnam, Indonesia and Myanmar.
The company’s main market is the US, where buyers are looking more and more to go direct to the source, as has been seen with Sam’s Club on shrimp and salmon, to the detriment of High Liner Foods.
Gulkin declined to comment on how this might impact Siam Canadian in the future, however.
