Vietnam shrimp packers delaying shipments of black tiger shrimp and new offers hard to come by.
Almost no black tiger shrimp from Vietnam intensive farms this year so sizes 31/40 (HLSO) down almost non- existent. Vietnam black tiger shrimp almost all from extensive farms this year, major sizes 6/8 – 26/30 (HLSO). Expect peak harvest end Oct.
Many Vietnam black tiger shrimp farmers have switched to Vannamei although vannamei supplies also tight in Vietnam. Black tiger #shrimp price in Vietnam very strong due to due shortage in Vietnam as well as other origins.
Labour shortages for some major Vietnam shrimp processors causing additional complications this year. Electronic, garment, shoe as well as factories from other industries drawing away workers.
